Argentine Football League Partners With Metaverse Company After World Cup Victory šŸ†

Life obviously gets better when you're winning. Just ask Argentina...

Following the Argentian national teamā€™s World Cup victory in Qatar, the Argentina Football Association has partnered with the leading metaverse platform Upland which I've highlighted in the past.

Here's A Quick Overview Of The Partnership:

  • The Argentine Football Association (AFA) will license Uplandā€™s metaverse to the countryā€™s professional football league.

  • Argentine football teams, clubs, players, tickets, game highlights, historical moments, and other exclusive offers are expected to be gamified.

With this official licensing deal, the countryā€™s professional football league will be the first league to enter Uplandā€™s metaverse.

All of this will hopefully result in better fan engagement with Argentine football fans, teams, and players.

Gamified opportunities are expected to include a wide range of Argentine digital collectibles. This includes teams, clubs, players, tickets, game highlights, historical moments, and other special offers.

The partnership grants the company exclusive ownership of match highlight videos.

NFT sales will also help the Argentine premier league generate a new revenue stream as users can buy, sell, and trade these licensed digital assets.

This agreement with the Argentine Football Association follows Uplandā€™s previous collaborations with FC Porto of Portugal and FIFA itself.

Under the agreement with FIFA, Upland offered licensed digital collectibles for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar which included highlights from the tournament as well.

Mike Vickā€™s Web3 Marketplace FanField Brings On Former MLB All-Star Jose Canseco šŸˆ

FanField, the web3 marketplace co-founded by Michael Vick, has added former MLB all-star Jose Canseco to its roster.

The first Canseco NFT collection will be released in the spring of 2023 and will be exclusively sold through the companyā€™s website.

Canseco joins Vick and former NFL Pro Bowl running back Adrian Peterson on the marketplaceā€™s list of athletes, which also includes more than 100 college and professional players.

Part of the Fanfield NFT utility is that fans can secure virtual one-on-one conversations with athletes, engage with them via social media, and play video games against them.

Vick, the former All-Pro quarterback, co-founded FanField last August with the intent of creating NIL opportunities for college athletes and dispersing some of the proceeds to charities such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

The first FanField NFTs were minted in September 2022 at the same time the marketplaceā€™s collegiate athletes began signing collectibles for fans digitally to create authenticity.

Crypto Exchange Gate.io Partners With World Tennis League To Launch NFTs šŸŽ¾

Cryptocurrency exchange, Gate.io is collaborating with the World Tennis League to launch a selection of limited-edition NFTs.

The NFT collections will be powered by EX-Sports, a popular fan engagement platform and game publisher built on the blockchain.

According to Gate.io, the NFTs will feature some of the star players who have participated in the league.

Gate.io has engaged in several collaborations to help drive awareness to the platform.

Recently, it partnered with Busan city in Korea to offer training to thousands of local blockchain professionals in the city every year. Through this partnership, Gate.io also aided with technology and infrastructural support to Busan.

As we know, Gate.io is not the first cryptocurrency exchange to dive into the sports world.

Aside from FTX and Crypto.com, WhiteBit has partnered with FC Barcelona to help with the adoption and popularity of cryptocurrencies and NFTs.

Leading crypto exchange, Binance also collaborated with Portuguese champion, FC Porto to launch an NFT mystery box.

Binance also partnered with FC Shakhtar to extend support to victims of the ongoing war in Ukraine.

All these signify the growing relationship between cryptocurrency firms and sports entities which doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon despite recent collapses.

Tribute To A Legend...

This past Thursday we lost one of the greatest athletes of all time.

PelƩ, the Brazilian soccer legend and winner of a record 3 World Cups, lost his battle with cancer at the age of 82.

He was not only a brilliant athlete but also an innovator, leader, humanitarian and global icon.

And even he believed in the power of NFTs.
